Shanghai, P.R.China ?The Polyurethanes division of the Huntsman Corporation (HUN:NYSE) a global leader in the development, manufacture and marketing of high-performance thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) resins, will be exhibiting at Wire China 2010 in Shanghai between 21st  ? 24th September 2010, showcasing its new fire-retardant, halogen-free TPU materials.

Huntsman Polyurethanes’ technical and commercial experts will be on hand at Shanghai New International Expo Center, stand number: W1B23/C24 to present and discuss the latest advances in TPU that complies with current safety standards for cable jacketing materials used in the IT and consumer electronics sector under the trade mark Irogran.

Complying with key criteria set out in the European RoHS directive and US VW1 standard, IROGRAN A85P5008 meets demand for a durable cabling material that is free from hazardous substances. Far safer in the event of a fire than conventional materials like PVC and brominated flame-retardants which can potentially transform in dioxins and furans, the material is the result of more than three years intensive R&D efforts.

The new technology will be presented at Wire China 2010:  IROGRAN A85P5008 can be extruded at high speeds on conventional PVC processing equipment, has a good surface quality and excellent mechanical properties (tensile strength and elongation). This makes it ideal for both uses in cable power systems and injection molding for electronic devices including plasma screens, mobile phones, MP3 players, digital cameras and laptops.
